We are looking for an Analytics Data Engineer to join our team! The Data Engineer designs, develops, and maintains data architecture and pipelines that adhere to best practices and help the organization achieve business goals. This includes authoring data dictionaries, preparing and analyzing data from multiple sources, addressing data quality issues, and defining process improvement opportunities. The data engineer will develop end-user reports and dashboards supporting core business functions. This role relies on strong communication and collaborative skills and established analytical and problem-solving skills in solving business critical problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop data solutions for analytics, supporting data analyst team members to improve their productivity and achieve business goals.
- Develop data extraction and cleansing processes for external data sources.
- Develop automated data integration workflows.
- Lead exploratory data analysis to support advanced analytics efforts.
- Create technical documentation of data elements, mappings, and workflows.
- Integrate reporting and metrics into various channels (Dashboards, Email, Excel, etc…)
- Cooperate with Development team staff to coordinate technical implementations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to resolve source data issues and refine transformation rules.
- Articulate results of data analysis to management
- Evaluate existing integration processes and collaborate to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
- Create test cases based on business requirements, data mapping/transformation rules, and interface design.
- Perform peer code reviews and assist with IT and business validations to ensure high-quality results.
- Mentor team members for reporting and analytics skills
- Develop dashboards and reports in support of operational requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in analytics, information systems, or related field.
- 7-10 years experience in Business Intelligence or Business Analysis
- 3 – 5 years Experience working as a Data Engineer: query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging data solutions.
- Extensive experience with reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, SSRS, and Excel)
- Experience with data warehouse design patterns
- Deep knowledge of T-SQL
- Experience in ETL development tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory)
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
