Primary Job Responsibility :

      • The Claim Associate is a centralized position responsible for assisting adjusters. The role’s primary work is assisting adjusters on claims which have personal article policies.

Duties and Responsibilities :

      • Follows RENFROE and clients’ policies and state specific regulations to handle all assigned duties under moderate supervision and within approved limits
      • Applies claims settlement procedures to process claims assigned by claims management, claim representatives and/or electronic assignment, within approved limits
      • Provides assistance, initiates claim payment process and/or closes assigned files, as directed
      • Enters content information and verifies pricing
      • Contacts and interacts with the insured to obtain documents such as purchase receipts, warranties, photographs or other documents to establish existence, ownership and value of the items claimed lost
      • Recognizes and refers claims that are beyond the scope of authority
      • Recognizes, refers, and/or processes subrogation/reimbursement claims within approved limits
      • Uses various electronic resources for claim processing
      • Assists in processing salvage, as directed
      • Enters claim information and updates claims files as new information becomes available using client’s proprietary software, if applicable
      • Participates in special projects and completes other duties as assigned

Specialized Knowledge and Skill Requirements :

      • Basic computer operating and data entry skills is required
      • Experience using various claims processing systems is preferred
      • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
      • Strong customer service orientation and good rapport with the insured
      • Well-organized and hard-working, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
      • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and proven ability to establish good relationships with clients, RENFROE management, employees and others with whom they interact
      • Additional opportunities and pay may be available for individuals who have obtained a bilingual-certification (Spanish/English).

Working Environment and Physical Requirements :

      • Sitting in a chair for extended periods of time
      • Ability to operate telephone, personal computer, mouse, keyboard and other various equipment for extended periods of time
      • Extended and varying work schedules
      • Regular attendance required, working up to 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for extended periods of time including weekends and holidays
      • Fast-paced, changing, multi-tasking environment
