Auto Claim Associate (non-CAT)


Primary Job Responsibility :

      The Auto Claim Associate (non-CAT) is a centralized position responsible for assisting Auto Property Damage Liability Adjusters (non-CAT) and Auto Collision Damage Appraisers (non-CAT). The role’s primary work is in auto-express and includes setting appointments, arranging automobile rentals, drafting payments and processing less complex claims such as first party automobile accidents.

Duties and Responsibilities :

      • Follows RENFROE and clients’ policies and state specific regulations to handle all assigned duties under moderate supervision
      • Applies claims settlement procedures to process claims assigned by claims management, claim representatives and/or electronic assignment, within approved limits
      • Provides assistance, initiates claim payment process and/or closes assigned files, as directed
      • Recognizes and refers claims that are beyond the scope of authority
      • Recognizes and refers claims with potential subrogation
      • Uses various electronic resources for claim processing
      • Assists in processing salvage and in car title and tax transactions, as directed
      • Enters claim information using client’s claim processing system and updates claim files as new information becomes available
      • Participates in special projects and completes other duties as assigned

Specialized Knowledge and Skill Requirements :

      • Basic computer operating and data entry skills
      • Experience using various claims processing systems is preferred
      • Appropriate licenses, depending on state requirements
      • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
      • Able to handle a high volume of claim calls
      • Able to work in a team environment and handle low complexity/high volume work
      • Well-organized and hard-working, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
      • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and proven ability to establish good relationships with policyholders, clients, RENFROE management, employees and others with whom they interact
      • Additional opportunities and pay may be available for individuals who have obtained a bilingual-certification (Spanish/English).

Working Environment and Physical Requirements :

      • Sitting in a chair for extended periods of time
      • Ability to operate telephone, computer, mouse, keyboard and other similar equipment for extended periods of time
      • Extended and varying work schedules
      • Regular attendance required, usually including at least 60 to 70 hours per week and nights, weekends and holidays
      • Fast-paced, changing, multi-tasking environment
